Recent discoveries in mutations in TCA cycle enzymes; succinate dehydrogenase (SDH), fumarate hydratase (FH), iso-citrate dehydrogenase (IDH) and malate dehydrogenase MDH2, have reinforced the link between mitochondrial dysfunction and cancer1.
